Погода в кармане is a free weather app available on Android platform. Developed by УП «Геоинформационные системы», the app provides detailed and accurate information about the current weather, hydrological, agrometeorological, and radiation-ecological conditions in populated areas of the Republic of Belarus. The data is obtained from automated measurements from the state monitoring network of Belhydromet. The app also provides storm warnings issued by Belhydromet meteorologists in advance and alerts about dangerous and unfavorable weather conditions as they arise.
The app uses numerical weather models GFS and WRF for automatic calculation of meteorological data without any control or correction. The calculations based on the WRF numerical model are performed using the computational power of Belhydromet. Users can select their populated area and view the weather data for it. The app also offers a profile with a set of data oriented towards specific users such as gardeners, fishermen, and nature lovers.
